The IWDG has sent us news of a pilot whale in West Cork.
"... of immediate interest to those in Cork/Kerry area is a Pilot whale which has been swimming inside Glengarrif Harbour, west Cork for the last few days, since 2nd April. This whale is c15ft in length and was first seen on Wednesday. Yesterday evening, local Duchas Ranger, Clare Heardman confirmed the species as Pilot whale, as she observed it swimming with 10 meters of the shore. For those of you who wish to see the animal, Eccles Hotel seems to be a good starting point. We gather that despite the local foggy conditions that the whale has been seen today Fri. 4th."
