Happy swimmers in Fanore

A picture of Dusty by Colin Here is an extract from Paddy and Colin Power who visited Dusty at the end of March, 2003:

"Colin and I went to see Dusty last weekend 30th and 31st March '03. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and booked in with Maud at Janesville House B & B. The water looked lovely with only a slight swell. The day itself was warm, with beautiful sunshine. We were only in the water a few minutes when the Queen arrived to greet us. The vis. was about ten metres and it was lovely to watch her gilding through the water so effortlessly. We snorkled with her for about an hour. Then we decided we would go for a dive. When we got out of the water to get our diving gear on, Dusty left. We only dived to six metres, as there is a lovely clear place to the right of the slip. We were only back in the water observing other inhabitants of sea when she returned. This time she was much more active and was excited about us being in her territory. She swam around us at speed for a few minutes, rising to the surface and jumping out of the water. Then she joined us on the bottom and helped us in our investigation of other life in the sea. We then returned to the slip where we swam with her until 7pm. We said goodbye and went to Doolin for dinner.

After breakfast on Sunday,we walked down to the sea, to see what was happening. Ute was in the water with Dusty. They were really having fun and enjoying each other's company. There was a bigger swell in the sea which caused the vis to deteriorate to two metres. We went back to the house, got our diving gear and got into the water in the middle cove. We stayed with her until 2 o'clock, when again we said our goodbyes. We had two wonderful days with her."
